Great Basin Basketmakers Grant Application
Goals: The purpose of providing grants is to encourage an exploration in contemporary basketry and/or preserving the traditions of basketry. To accomplish these goals GBB has set aside funds to award grants for a myriad of activities including lectures, fees, conference registration, seminars, workshops, retreat, etc.
Grants: Grants of up to $100.00 each.
Eligibility: Grants are available to anyone who is a member in good standing and has at least 6 months of active membership in the group. “Active membership” is defined as participation in GBB activities such as committees, programs, classes, etc. Grants are limited to one per year per member.
Application Procedure: The application form must be submitted to the Grant Committee 60 days prior to the activity and should include a brief explanation of why the applicant wants the grant.
The application will be reviewed by the Grant Committee within 30 days of its receipt and the decision taken to the GBB Board of Directors before the grantee is notified of the decision. Grant recipient’s names will be announced at the GBB monthly meeting and published in the newsletter.
Upon approval, GBB treasurer will be notified and will transfer monies from the Grant Fund to the appropriate GBB activity. In the case of non-GBB activities, the recipient will be asked to submit a statement of incurred expenses and receipts to the GBB treasurer after the activity for reimbursement.
Evaluation Criteria: The grantee will be asked to write a short article for the newsletter detailing their experience after the activity. When possible, we also ask that information be shared at the GBB meeting.
