This basket is based on a Shaker basket used to make cheese. The basket size and shape will be determined by the length and number of 1/4” flat oval reed spokes used. The hexagonal weave is the basic structure of this basket.

For those of you that want an extra challenge, you can lace there different dyed materials through each axis. There are two options for the rim: either a standard rim, or a rim lashed with cane in a Japanese-style knotted wrap.

Class fee: $35 members/$45 non-members, plus $15 Materials Fee
Bring: Scissors, ruler, packing tools, spoke weight, spray bottle, sponge, towel, apron, lunch.
