The
Nevada
State
Museum
is hosting Interwoven II: Visions of the Great Basin Basketmakers, an
exhibition featuring original hand woven baskets, sculptures and vessels.
Unique and expressive contemporary and traditional creations by many of
the regions finest basketmakers will be displayed in the Changing Gallery from
May 11 through
August 5, 2007
.
The group held an exhibit at the

Over the last 20 years, this

galleries and statewide touring exhibits. They
have earned recognition as basket artists and their passion for basketry is
highly appreciated by those who have seen their work. The group, which has over
200 members nationwide, works with a variety of materials such as native plants
and grasses, reed, willow, wire, paper and fibers.
After the exhibit ends in August, it
will then be moved to the
Nevada
State
Museum
in
Las Vegas
for a planned three-month exhibit. For
